Have Your Say
Hull LINk wants to hear about your experiences of health and social care services and your ideas for improvements and changes. By sharing your ideas and experiences you can help ensure we have a true representation of the issues affecting people in Hull.
We are currently asking people to have their say on the following issues:
HealthWatch
The government has put forward new plans for LINks to be transformed into local HealthWatch, a new independent consumer champion for health and social care. Described in the proposals as a ‘citizens’ advice bureau for health and social care’, local HealthWatch will build on the current work of LINks but will have a wider role, including:
- Advocacy service for people making complaints.
- Information and signposting to help people make choices about services.
The Government would like to know people’s views on this proposal and so Hull LINk is conducting the following survey for people to have their say:
HealthWatch Survey
The deadline for completing surveys is Friday 24th September 2010.
Personalisation
Hull LINk is working in with East Riding LINk, Carers’ Centre Hull and North Bank Forum to look at how the introduction of Individual Budgets for care services is working for services users and family carers.
We are very keen to find out about services users’ and family carers’:
- understanding of individual budgets
- experiences of applying for individual budgets
- experiences of using individual budgets
We’d like to hear about the good experiences as well as the bad. It only takes a few minutes to have your say and your views will help to make a real difference.
We will use your replies to help shape further work with service users and carers – leading to a report highlighting key issues and containing recommendations for changes and improvements.

Help With Communications Support for People with Hearing Impairments
Communication support for people with hearing impairments must be made available at NHS appointments. Hull LINk are currently investigating whether this support is readily available. You could help to improve things by giving us your views. ‘Have your say’ by completing the survey which most applies to you:
Client / Carer Survey – If you or any of your family / friends has a hearing impairment.
Health Worker Survey – If you work with clients who have hearing impairments.
Your Experiences of Local Services
In Autumn 2010 Hull LINk will be launching new investigations. These will examine the services which local people feel are most in need of improvement. Therefore:
- If you have any concerns about services…
- Or if you have any suggestions for improvements…
…Please share your views with us in this short survey. We can’t promise to look into every issue that is raised but we will act on the priorities.
