National Association of LINk Members (NALM)

Hull LINk Position Statement

Members of the newly elected Hull LINk Steering Group considered a request from an organisation called NALM for Hull LINk to join NALM and to also promote membership of NALM to a wider audience.

NALM is an organisation set up after the abolition of Patient and Public Involvement Forums which brings together individuals who have joined their local LINk from across England. It is not at this stage a national federation of LINks as organisations in their own right.

The Steering Group decided to decline this request at this stage, given issues and questions regarding how representative the group was; its commitment to the aims of LINk; the value to Hull LINk of joining; and financial implications of membership.

The Steering Group decided at this stage the priority is to build a strong local LINk for Hull and to develop relationships with LINks across Yorkshire and Humber.
