Respite Care and Support for Carers

Issue: Pressing need for short-term respite care for full time carers. Support for older carers caring for grown-up children.

Progress so far: 

The Carers’ Centre currently provides a number of services to support carers, one of these being a respite service. The LINk works regularly with the Carers Centre and have collectively identified areas where the LINk using its statutory powers, can help the Centre enhance its service provision.

Hull Churches Home From Hospital has been commissioned by NHS Hull to work with GP Practices to identify carers and refer them on to the support services they may need. As part of this role, Hull Churches Home From Hospital will be conducting regular forums whereby carers can share any concerns or issues they have. The LINk will sit on a sub-group that will be formed to look at and address any issues that arise from these forums.
